Not much longer than 3 months ago my little brother proposed to his girlfriend of nearly 2 years. Yesterday, Aaron and Alee tied the knot with a beautiful ceremony in Duluth, MN. Since only a limited number of friends and family could make it on such short notice, I want to share as much of their wedding weekend with you all so that you can experience it vicariously.
We started off Saturday morning at Alee's parents' house. Her mom made an awesome breakfast for friends and family who were already in town.
After breakfast, some of the group burned off some calories by playing a nice game of croquet.
Alee's grandparents were able to make it in from Arkansas. Harold and Norma were so much fun to be around.
From there, we decided to check out where the wedding was going to be held the next day. Aaron and Alee reserved a spot at a city park. The scenery that I pictured in my mind for the last month was definitely not accurate! They do city parks differently in Duluth! This was more like a nature preserve. BEAUTIFUL!!!
This little waterfall was the background for the ceremony. The gazebo that we stood in overlooked this stream.
This little bridge overlooked where the waterfall emptied into. The guy standing next to Derek is Alee's brother Kirk.
Kennedy and Alee were BFFs the entire weekend. I'm so happy that Alee seems to like my kids because they sure are obsessed with her!
Alee and her dad, Kim, practicing for the ceremony.
This is the gazebo where the ceremony was held. We had to make sure all of us could fit in there!
That evening we all ate dinner together at a nice Italian restaurant in Duluth. Aaron and his posse decided to liven the party up a little bit. On a spontaneous trip to a thrift store, they all bought Hawaiian shirts!
Here's part of the crew: Derek and Keith Woghelmuth, Adam Goodpasture, Roger Purdy, Jake (the officiant), Aaron, Ken, and Andy Purdy.
Derek is ready to feast!
There was a rose garden right next to the restaurant, so after dinner the entire group went for a stroll. The stroll quickly turned into a goofy photo shoot!
Aaron looks scared! This is not a good face the night before your wedding!
Alee and her siblings, Cyndi and Kirk.
Do you know how IMPOSSIBLE it was to get a serious photo of these two lovebirds?!
He's so distinguished...
Stay tuned for Part 2: The Wedding
